Since 2003 I’ve been the president and CEO of Guidance. I’m a husband and father of two little boys. I serve as a board member of the Santa Monica Boys and Girls Clubs, a club that I frequented when I was a child. And I have a growing interest and participation in my local community, its leaders, educators and programs.
For almost 15 years at Guidance – first as an employee and later as the owner – I’ve been creating online solutions for retailers. Guidance specializes in building highly customized ecommerce platforms for retailers and has delivered hundreds of solutions to mid- and large-sized companies across the US and Europe. Guidance was named one of the “Best Places to Work in LA” by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2008, 2009 and 2012.
My role as CEO is to define strategic direction, identify and support amazing executive leaders, and to service industry leading clients, including Foot Locker, Burlington Coat Factory, Nike, Oakley, 1-800-Dentist and hundreds more.
As a husband and father, I make my home in sunny Hermosa Beach, California. After growing up in Santa Monica and going to school at UC Santa Barbara, Hermosa has become the perfect beach community for me in which to build my family and circles of friends.
In my community, I’m very active in fundraising and volunteering my time, most notably to the Santa Monica Boys and Girls Clubs. The club’s mission is to enable and inspire all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as caring, responsible and productive citizens. I serve on the executive committee as one of the youngest members of the club’s well established and highly supported board of governors. And in 2009, I was awarded President Obama’s Volunteer Service Award. Since 2009, I’ve also served as the club’s Auction Council president and on its Resource and Development committee, both of which support the financial needs of the club on an annual basis.
I’m also an investor in a couple of really cool charitable giving organizations. ONEHOPE Wine, one of the most recognizable cause brands in the US, donates 50% of its profits to Breast Cancer, Autism, the Planet, Troops, AIDS, and supporting Children’s Hospitals. Gifts That Give is another great organization that markets a wide variety of consumer products online and donates 20% of the purchase value to a charity designated by the consumer. Most recently, I’ve taken an interest in supporting Good360, the world’s largest online product donation marketplace, where product donations from America’s top brands and retailers become goods for the greater good.
While not charitable (just yet), I’m also an investor in AuctionPoint which in 2009 received significant funding from LoopNet and developed the only online auction tool built specifically for commercial real estate brokers.
